Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers

As we approach the initial public consultation of the BBEST plan, we are seeking volunteers to support BBEST in two areas: a pedestrian survey to build up the evidence base for the Boulevard project and support for the BBEST website.

If you are interested in either (or both!) of these projects, please email us at info@bbest.org.uk.

PEDESTRIAN SURVEY in September & October

BBEST is looking for volunteers to carry out a survey of pedestrian numbers in Broomhill.  This will provide valuable evidence on conditions for pedestrians in support of proposals for improvement. The information will also be of interest to businesses in the area.

Volunteers will count the number of pedestrians in each direction for half hour slots at various times and locations in Broomhill between the hours of 7:30am-6:30pm.  Survey dates are Tuesdays and Thursdays in late September and October 2016. Full details will be given and a number of mechanical counters are available to make counting easier.

The survey will need about 6 people surveying for around 8 half hour slots each – less slots each if there are more people of course.

WEBSITE SUPPORT – minimal monthly support

The BBEST website (BBEST.org.uk) has recently undergone a facelift and has additional facilities – as yet still in the background – ahead of the initial BBEST consultation period in September 2016.  BBEST is looking for a volunteer, or volunteers, to help support the website at this important time for the BBEST project. This does not require advanced skills, rather interest and a minimal amount of time each month.  Please get in touch if you think you could help us with this.
