Consultation Encore!

Thanks to the success of our consultation event at the Broomhill Festival, we have been asked to repeat the event at the Broomhill Infant School Fair this Saturday, July 12th from 11:00am-1:30pm. So if you didn’t get to participate in our stall at the Broomhill Festival garden party, drop by Broomhill Infant School this Saturday and help us to put your expert local knowledge on the map.  All the data we gather will be used to inform our neighbourhood plan to guide the future development of our neighbourhood.

Thank You for making our Broomhill Festival events a great success!

Our Broomhill Festival stall received a lot of attention and engaged residents from all over the BBEST area.  Residents added what they liked and disliked about the area to the map along with ideas and opportunities for improvements at specific locations.

There were also surveys and voting on priorities for neighbourhood improvements.  The results of the survey and mapping exercise are currently being collated and analysed.  The results will be posted on the website once this process is compete.

It wasn’t just grown ups at the garden party.  The kids also took part in a local knowledge quiz (won by Jamie L.) and produced some fantastic drawings of their houses and favourite local places.

On Sunday afternoon, the lecture by Prue Chiles from the University of Sheffield architecture department was also well received.  Those who attended said they now look at Broomhill with a new appreciation for its architectural detail and craftsmanship.  Following the lecture, there were also some great ideas tabled for our future neighbourhood plan during the group discussions.

Thanks again for making both of these events such a success!

Coming Up….Public Consultation Events at the Broomhill Festival!

BBEST will be holding two consultation events at the upcoming Broomhill Festival.

The first is on Saturday, June 14th from 2-5pm at the Festival Garden Party at St. Mark’s Church in Broomhill.  This is a drop-in event with activities suitable for all ages to gather your expert knowledge of the area along with your ideas and visions for our future development.  This will help us to inform our neighbourhood plan. Please drop by our stall and spend a few minutes with us.

The second event is on Sunday, June 15th from 3-5pm also at St Mark’s Church. It is entitled ‘Visions of Broomhill from 1800-2100: a Review and Debate.’  This will begin with a talk by architecture and planning faculty from The University of Sheffield followed by small group discussions of key issues for our area.

Your participation in these events is important as it will help to build an evidence base to inform what will become our Neighbourhood Plan.  Come and join in so that our Neighbourhood Plan will be the best it can be!

If you have any questions about either event, feel free to email us.
